Position Summary | The Experiential Program Coordinator supports the academic and co- curricular progress of Scott Scholars by tracking their advancement through various program components. This position specifically facilitates the experiential learning opportunities for approximately 12 UNMC Scott Scholars per cohort. The Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and providing logistical support for key program elements such as the Global Immersion Program, research opportunities, and the Beyond the White Coat Seminar Series. Additionally, the Coordinator manages data related to student participation and outcomes in these programs. Furthermore, the Coordinator supplies program data and other information as requested to the Foundation, communicates programming event details to the Foundation, serves as a positive role model, and consistently represents the college and Foundation in a professional manner. Moreover, the Coordinator supports the Founders’ vision of being a catalyst for positive change and exemplifies the Foundation’ s values: being a lifelong learner, a giver not a taker, and striving to exceed expectations. The Coordinator assists students who are at risk of not completing their course of study, helping them to regain their path and connecting them with necessary resources. The Coordinator interacts with Scott Scholar Alumni and coordinates the peer and alumni mentoring programs. Data managed by this position contributes to quarterly, annual, and specialized reports for UNO Administration and the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation. The Coordinator collaborates closely with Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation members to plan and organize special events and learning opportunities for current and former students. In the appropriate educational sequence and in coordination with academic programs, the Coordinator ensures each Scott Scholar has access to high- quality, meaningful research opportunities. This includes, but is not limited to, staying informed about new and ongoing university and divisional programs and activities to ensure that scholars are connected to suitable events and provided with resources for success. The Coordinator carries out major assignments and makes recommendations for student selection and placement with available opportunities. |
