The Recruiter/Admissions Advisor represents the college at all assigned high schools, visits, fairs, tours, and other recruiting events. This person travels throughout Iowa and Nebraska during the recruitment season and performs various tasks, including new student registration, during the off-season. The Recruiter/Admissions Advisor communicates with prospective students and their families regularly through presentations, phone calls, emails, text messaging, and meetings. In collaboration with other recruiting staff and departments, this person assists with on-campus recruiting events for prospective students, as well as registration and orientation events for new students.
Travels to recruiting events including high school visits and college fairs and promotes the College positively and professionally.
Manages an assigned recruiting territory and maintains positive working relationships with high school staff, including high school guidance counselors, administrators, and teachers.
Communicates admissions and enrollment requirements, processes, and procedures to prospective students via phone calls, emails, social media, and face-to-face interactions.
Meets with small and large groups of prospective students and parents at on-campus events, and off-campus at high school visits and college/career fairs. Provides information on college services and resources, admissions and enrollment, financial aid, and career and transfer planning assistance.
Assists new students with first semester registration. Maintains frequent contact with incoming students regarding admissions, enrollment, and financial aid requirements, processes, and procedures.
Must know and understand advising, admissions, program requirements, registration, front-line financial aid, college policies, and other college resources. Stays updated on institutional information, admissions requirements, new programs, course changes, important dates and deadlines, costs, expanding facilities, and updates in college-wide initiatives. Works closely with financial aid advisors to adequately assist students.
Explores new tactics and ideas to enhance recruiting and student in-take and relays information to the Director of Recruitment.
Attends and assists with three commencement ceremonies throughout the year.
Develops, participates in, and provides records of professional development activities.

Bachelorâ??s degree
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to articulate in both small and large group settings and with diverse groups of people including co-workers, students, business contacts and at various levels from front-line to administration
Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, to meet deadlines, to maintain and access paper and electronic files, to produce error-free final products, and to manage time and output
Excellent customer service skills required
Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
Enthusiastic and dedicated to the challenges of helping other people
