DEPARTMENT FUNCTION/JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for organizing and managing the major gifts, annual gifts and planned gifts fundraising activities and operations of the Madonna Foundation for the Lincoln Campus, including defining and supervising the operational functions and processes that support the fundraising objectives, creating and managing the annual Foundation budget in conjunction with the Vice President of Development managing the financial, investment and administrative functions, and supporting the elements of the Madonna Foundation for the Lincoln Campus.

In association with the Vice President of Development, responsible for achieving the fundraising goals and the operational efficiency that realize the cost of fundraising ratio goal of the Foundation. Responsible for providing direct and indirect support for any capital campaigns. Responsible for ensuring that funds are raised and utilized in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and donorâ??s wishes.

Responsible for managing major and planned gift fundraising for a list of key donor prospects, applying the majority of time worked to the fundraising function. Responsible for supervision and development of Foundation staff at the Lincoln Campus. Responsible for quality service delivery and internal/external customer relations for the Foundation and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals as a whole, including upholding the mission and values of the department and facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Engages in major and planned gift fundraising from donor prospects in the Lincoln Campus area and surrounding region (or Omaha area and surrounding region) and manages the fundraising activities of Lincoln Campus Foundation staff.
2. Manages a portfolio, utilizing a Moves Management principle of local, regional and national individual, corporate, foundation and planned gift prospects.
3. Utilizes research, evaluation, coordination, marketing/education and direct face-to-face solicitation, traveling when necessary, along with grant applications to secure funds for the Foundation.
4. Assists with planning and overseeing all special events related to fundraising.  Works with staff to facilitate committee development, setting goals for events, identification of event sponsors and underwriters, and overseeing all other related details with each event and meeting approved fund development goals.
5. Working with the Associate Vice President of Development, research and maintain a working list of potential Foundation Board members.
6. Assists with administering the scheduling and financial detailing of the annual budget, and financial reporting activities of the Foundation with the direction of the Vice President of Development.
7. Build, lead, and sustain high-performing teams by recruiting, developing, mentoring, and retaining skilled Lincoln campus Foundation employees. Ensure team members have the knowledge and resources to meet expectations.
8. Establish performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and implement development plans that support continuous learning, professional growth, accountability, and service excellence.
9. Provides oversight in the coordination of equipment, furnishings and other environmental needs of the Foundationâ??s Lincoln Campus, planning and implementing maintenance or purchase in accordance with the annual budget.
10. Engages in professional and educational development activities to stay abreast of current developments in operations and administration of fundraising organizations.
11. Coordinates foundation activities with appropriate people or functions of the hospitals.
12. Coordinates fundraising plans with hospital staff, the Vice President of Development, the Associate Vice President of Development and the CEO of MRH to ensure alignment with the goals of the hospitals.
13. Communicates regularly with the Vice President of Development in coordinating Foundation Board communications and Board member relations, as it relates to major giving and leadership opportunities.
14. Follows instruction from supervisor to perform other functions as assigned or in order to achieve the goals within the department and/or system.
15. Operates personal computer to access development data, performs word processing and spreadsheet functions and performs other tasks of administrative management.  Effectively and efficiently operates Power Point, Word, Excel and Raiserâ??s Edge programs.
16. Maintains and ensures a safe and clean environment for the department. Handles and operates all necessary equipment and performs required duties according to established safety standards to maintain compliance with regulations and prevent injury.
17. Provides and operates motor vehicle and travels as necessary to contact and serve clients.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
    
    Occasionally lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds when transporting and setting up display and presentation materials. Indoor work with occasional exposure to outside when doing fundraising functions.  Mobility required to travel to schedule fundraising activities or meetings as needed. Requires sufficient sight to see and read reports and computer screen. Requires sufficient hearing and speaking to communicate by phone or in person.
    
    QUALIFICATIONS (Education/training and/or Experience)
    
    Bachelor's degree required with a preference for a degree in marketing, communications or business administration.  Five yearsâ?? experience in fundraising, business development or marketing, that includes demonstrated performance required, preferably with management and oversight of fundraising administration and operations. Two yearsâ?? supervisory experience is required.  Must have demonstrated the ability to be a self-starter, start and complete tasks, develop organizational and functional models, work creatively and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors and potential donors.  Proven communication skills required â?? both written and verbal. Must reside within the community of primary fundraising area. Must have strong organizational skills to produce high-quality results under pressure and tight deadlines.  Must have demonstrated through work and education, a track record of solid performance.  Must have valid driverâ??s license and proof of good driving record.  Proficient computers skills including Internet and word processing required.
